APG is one of the largest pension service providers and pension investors in the world. We support Dutch pension funds by providing pension administration, communication, advisory services, and asset management. On behalf of our clients, we manage more than €600 billion in pension assets and help secure the retirement income of millions of participants in the Netherlands. APG is unique because it combines deep expertise in pensions and investments with a strong societal purpose: creating sustainable and affordable pensions for current and future generations.
At APG, our values guide everything we do. We believe in connecting with others, taking responsibility, acting with integrity, being transparent, and keeping the interests of participants at the heart of our decisions. These values help us maintain the trust of clients, pension participants, regulators, and society as a whole.
Our vision for the future is outlined in our Strategy 2030. APG is transforming into a more efficient, digital, data-driven, and future-proof organization. We are preparing for the new Dutch pension system while investing in innovation, automation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable growth. At the same time, we aim to remain a reliable long-term partner for pension funds and their participants in a rapidly changing world.
Econometricians are a strong fit for APG because data, modelling, and quantitative analysis are central to many of our activities. From investment strategies and risk management to business analytics, econometricians help transform complex data into insights that support better decisions. We look for graduates who are analytically strong, curious and eager to learn. In addition, we value collaboration, communication skills, and a genuine interest in contributing to meaningful societal outcomes through their work.
For APG Asset Management, AI plays an increasingly important role in supporting data-driven decision-making, digital innovation, and operational efficiency. As part of APG’s broader digital transformation strategy, AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot help employees analyze data, summarize complex documents, create reports, and process information more efficiently. AI and digitalization are viewed as strategic enablers that help APG Asset Management become more future-proof, efficient, and innovative.
Within Asset Management, internship and working student opportunities are available on a limited basis. Instead, APG Asset Management offers an annual general traineeship for recent graduates. Starting each October, this two-year programme provides participants with the opportunity to develop broadly within the fields of pension investing, asset management, and financial markets.
