About Milliman

Milliman is one of the largest independent consulting firms in the world in actuarial science, financial risk management and data science. From our Benelux offices in Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg, around 50 consultants work for insurers, banks, pension funds and other financial institutions. Worldwide we are more than 4,000 people across over 30 countries.

What sets us apart

You take on responsibility from day one and work directly alongside experienced colleagues on real client questions. Teams are small, so there is no layer between you and the work. Projects range from risk modelling and pricing to AI applications, data science and M&A support. No two weeks look the same.

Our values

Independence, objectivity and technical rigour. Everyone here is expected to take initiative, take responsibility for their own work, and invest in the people around them.

Where we are heading

The actuarial profession is changing quickly. Regulation keeps evolving, data volumes keep growing, and clients increasingly bring questions that sit between actuarial science and data science. What stays constant is the standard we hold ourselves to. We want to keep doing work at expert level: assignments that are technically demanding, that require real depth rather than a quick answer, and that our people find genuinely challenging. Maintaining that professional and technical standard is what shapes the work we take on and the people we hire.

Why econometrics fits

You use your analytical toolkit daily: statistical modelling, programming in Python and R, and translating complex analysis into something a client can act on. Alongside that you develop as a consultant.’

What we expect from a starter

Curiosity and initiative above all. Ask questions, say when something is unclear, and keep learning. Strong quantitative foundations matter, and so does the ability to explain your work to someone who is not a modeller. In return: challenging projects, close guidance from senior colleagues, and room to grow.
